On November 15th, 1971, Gene Higginbotham founded American Pest Control in Athens, Georgia. He gained experience in the industry after beginning his career with a big name in pest control then started his own company to pursue his passion for customer service, honesty, and integrity. Mr. Higginbotham himself completed the inspection, customer consultation, and service himself from day one. What began as a small pest control company employing only three people has since grown into a company with 11 offices all over Northeast Georgia with over 100 employees, all the while maintaining it’s local, family-owned, small-town values. Mr. Gene passed away in August 2015 but his legacy lives on through his children, Laurie and Scott, and all the members of the American Pest Control Family.
